The Avalon Series
Glastonbury is a small town in Somerset, England, situated at a dry point on the low lying Somerset Levels. Glastonbury is notable for myths and legends often related to Glastonbury Tor, concerning Joseph of Arimathea, the Holy Grail and King Arthur. In some Arthurian literature Glastonbury is identified withe the legendary Isle of Avalon.
I visited Glastonbury for the first time in 2010 and though the visit was a part of my first holiday to England, I felt that I'd come 'home' instantly. I was fortunate enough to visit this sacred site again in 2011 to find an even deeper connection to the energies that can only be described as "The Glastonbury Experience". I have always been deeply connected to the spirit realm. Some of my earliest memories are of visions and visitors from other times and dimensions. I did not fully understand these visions until I came back to Glastonbury and reconnected with the amazing energies of this sacred site. There are no words adequate enough to describe the beauty, vibrance, and deep spiritual connection of Glastonbury. I have communicated the best way I know how - and that is to give you a glimpse of how I 'see' the world. Below you will find a collection of pieces that were created to embody the magic that is "The Glastonbury Experience".
Visions and Visitors Series
I have always had a deep connection with the Spirit Realm. Some of my earliest memories are of visitors from other realms and colourful visions. As a child and young adult these visions and visitors stayed locked deeply in my 'imagination' library. It was not until I matured as a Spirit that I was finally able to express through my art the unique view that I have been gifted with 'seeing' this world with.
Visions and visitors is a collection of art that was produced to personify the spiritual connection we have with all living things and illustrates the energies of the magic that surrounds us.
Word Magic Series
Words are magic. From the dawn of language we have used words to express our innermost wants, needs, desires, history and lessons. The Word Magic Series is a collection of images that were created around a specific quote or theme. They are intended to serve as much more than a pretty piece of art on the wall - their intention is for the viewer to absorb the magic of the words interwoven with each piece. This is a singular journey that will be different for each individual viewer.
Surreal Landscapes Series
These Surreal Landscapes were created from a deeper connection to the spirit of the landscape that the image captures. This is a gift...to be able to view the spirit of a place in all of it's vibrant glory. This is a celebration of the Spirit that is in all living things. Look deeper at what you see...everywhere.
The Divine Feminine Series
The Divine Feminine Series was created to celebrate the feminine aspects within all of us - whether we incarnated as male or female in this lifetime.
The Tile Series
The images contained in the Tile Series were produced from taking elements from one large piece of art and making individual pictures out of it. These images are then combined in sets of two or more for art to be applied to ceramic tile coasters. They make very nice wall collages as well, or do well as a single piece of art.
The Black & White Series
I have always enjoyed doing pen and ink 'doodles' - this is the first form of 'art' that I discovered. While in school you could find evidence of this budding craft all over the books and notebooks I was supposed to be learning from. Sometimes this 'art' spilled over to shoes, or clothing, or even my hands or arms. I have always found comfort in repetative shapes or 'doodles' - and as I began to get more and more lost into the artform - I realized what a great meditative activity it is. There is a whole school created on the concept of doodling and meditative drawings. I have combined those ideals with my own artistic eye as well as patterns I love from all manner of art from nature, to spirit, to henna patterns and mandalla art. .
